PAF Reading Program’s placement and progress monitoring tools are aligned with structured literacy interventions and systems for tracking students within the MTSS framework and offer instructional guidance responsive to early literacy screening results for all students. The assessment cycle must include universal screening at least annually, diagnostic assessments for students demonstrating a need for additional support, and progress monitoring tools that complement California’s requirement for universal screening and appropriate movement between MTSS tiers.
