PAF READING PROGRAM

PAF is a comprehensive structured language program for teaching reading, spelling, and handwriting using multisensory techniques. It is an effective beginning reading program for all children, including multilingual learners. When begun in kindergarten or first grade, it prevents reading failure in children at risk for learning difficulties. In addition, it can be used as an intervention program.

RESEARCH-BASED READING INSTRUCTION

PAF incorporates instructional practices supported by the latest research and recommended by the National Reading Panel. It is the most effective classroom adaptation of Orton-Gillingham instruction and the only one coordinated with a comprehensive reading series.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

PAF provides professional development and ongoing teacher support that can be tailored to the needs of individual schools and districts. We provide support to help develop a model that will meet the diverse needs of all students. In addition, learning how to administer and analyze curriculum-based assessments to inform instruction and monitor progress is a crucial component of PAF’s professional development.

DISTRICTS & SCHOOLS

PAF contains all the critical elements of a comprehensive reading program for primary grades: phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, word recognition, vocabulary, spelling, handwriting, and comprehension strategies. All these vital components of reading are taught simultaneously in integrated lessons, each subject reinforcing and strengthening the others. PAF’s team of experienced Master Teachers is available to provide professional development and ongoing support tailored to the individual needs of districts and schools.

TEACHERS

PAF was written for teachers, by teachers. Everything has been organized to make the program effective and user-friendly. The instructions are concise and easily accessible. There is no need for a large assortment of books and materials for each area of study. Everything children need for a lesson is contained in just two books: a decodable chapter book and a skills book. PAF’s team of experienced Master Teachers is available to provide professional development and ongoing support as you implement the program.

OUR BROCHURE

  • PAF has been a complete game-changer for my reading and phonics instruction. Before I started using this program, I had students who just weren’t making progress in reading, no matter what I tried. Once I started implementing PAF, these students quickly started to make huge gains. PAF is easy to implement as a teacher, and it’s very engaging for students. Even my most reluctant readers enjoy learning through PAF, and their reading confidence has improved enormously. It’s amazing to see students feeling excited to read. I can’t recommend this program enough!
