PAF Reading Program is designed to meet the needs of all students.  The lesson structure stays the same, while the pacing, dosage, and reinforcement modulate as-needed. Below is guidance for adjustments for students requiring increased support, including individuals with Dyslexia.

Review

• Increase time

Introduction of New Material

• Adjust Pacing
• Use of pocket chart

Dictation

• Decrease the number of dictated words
• Decrease the number of dictated sentences
• Increase Amount of handwriting instruction
• Increase/include spiral Review of previous skills

Reading

• Decrease the number of words/sentences read
• Increase the number of repeated readings
• Increase visuals to support vocabulary

Reinforcement

• Increase Amount of time spent
• Increase Teacher support
• Slowly increase independence
